Our heartfelt thanks to all at Rushton’s and, in particular, to Lee who, from the time of the first phone call right through to the days following the funeral, took charge, was our only point of contact, and who made the whole process so smooth and dignified. The gentle but pragmatic approach he took at the family meeting to put arrangements in place, just 2 days after our bereavement, was greatly appreciated as was his honesty and transparency regarding what was needed and the costs involved.

Lee’s meticulous planning and thoughtfulness throughout the fortnight leading up to the funeral gave us all massive reassurance and comfort, including him making several phone calls checking on various details. He was extremely accommodating and understanding. He even did a trial run to check the timings of the train barriers being down in Birkdale village at the same time of day as the hearse was scheduled to pass through on the day of the funeral, so we would arrive at the Crematorium at the correct time.

Also a mention to Chris and his colleague who came out the night Dad died to take him to the funeral director’s; they were so respectful in a very emotional situation. We even ‘caught’ them bowing to Dad after putting him into their vehicle and closing the doors- we were really touched.
We would highly recommend Rushton’s to anybody to use at what can be such a difficult time anyway; they really did make everything so much easier than it might have been.

Each morning and evening while they had him in their care they said good morning and good evening. They were so considerate and listened to all your needs. Our experience for my father’s funeral was absolutely outstanding. This was a really difficult time for my family as dad was the centre of our world. Matthew was amazing. Five star from start to finish. He was so considerate and helpful. Sasha was exceptional every time we visited. Lee was also faultless and I can honestly say, Rushtons took so much of the pain away from what was such a difficult time. They would be my first choice every time and I have already recommended them and will continue to do so. Whilst not our primary consideration, but it has to be said that value was exceptional.

From start to finish, a day I had feared for sometime, actually turned out to be a beautiful celebration of my wife Rachel. I remember turning up to make an appointment at M Rushton, Matthew gave me a warm welcome and put me at ease. Some people are just born to do certain jobs and Matthew you clearly are. The attention to detail, always keeping myself and family informed at every stage of the preparation was second to none. What a stunning day it was, and that was down to you Matthew. From myself and my family, a massive heart felt thank you to Matthew and M Rushton funeral services for creating a wonderful day.

Lee and the whole team provided a first class service all the way through. They were professional and efficient whilst at the same time being understanding and empathetic. I was never in doubt that we were in very safe hands. In common with an earlier review, I too am a priest and deal with many funeral directors. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Lee and the whole team.

Following the death of my mum, my sisters and I didn't know who to choose as funeral directors. However after popping into Rushtons and being welcomed by lovely Sasha on reception and then meeting Matthew, all our minds were made up after the first 10 minutes of our initial chat with him. We wanted things done in a way that mum would have wanted and liked and we loved the fact that he really listened to us. He made note of everything that mum loved and guided us through the whole process with empathy, professionalism, respect and a touch of humour which helped my sisters and I while we were dealing with her loss. She had a beautiful send off and I was so appreciative of Matthew's support through it all. I didn't realise I'd need it again 3 weeks later following the unexpected death of my husband. Matthew and Sasha supported me through the worst time of my life. Matthew especially, went above and beyond and I will never forget his kindness in helping me. Nothing was too much trouble. They gave two of the most loved and important people in my life a beautiful send off. If you want the best for your loved one, then look no further.

As a priest for 27 years I have had a lot of experience of funeral directors. Mostly this has been through working in a parish, but this time it was for the funeral of a close relative. I would say that M Rushton Funeral Directors were faultless. They were kind, compassionate, understanding and could not have done more to help my family and myself at such a difficult time. It was a fellow priest who recommended them to me and he was absolutely right. At the time when you most need somebody to help, nothing was too much trouble for them and without exception their staff were friendly and helpful. I would single out Lee for special mention, as it was with Lee I had most dealings, but everyone at M Rushton understood that this was a difficult time and went out of their way to help. I have no hesitation in recommending them.
