Michael Rushton Dip.Fd is a qualified Funeral Director with over 39 years experience, he serves as business principal for the funeral home, together with his wife Michelle.
They serve all of Southport and surrounding areas with compassion, dignity and respect. They are both committed to providing a compassionate, professional service, and always put their clients needs first, often going above and beyond, to help families at such a difficult time. They have a small core team of dedicated, caring and professional staff, who are as committed to client care, dignity and respect as they are.
Michael grew up in Banks and Michelle Southport. They have lived in the area all their lives, with Michelle coming from generations born in Marshside and Churchtown. They live in Churchtown with their children, only a 5 minute drive away from their funeral home. Michael is well respected, and after 39 years, he is the longest serving Funeral Director in Southport. He has conducted the funerals of many past Funeral Directors and Clergy from Southport, as he is so respected in the community.
Michelle has over 15 years experience working in the funeral and bereavement sector, and is a Funeral Arranger and Funeral Director. She has worked in the past as a Bereavement Support volunteer for a large charity, having both counselling and bereavement qualifications.
The team at our funeral home will provide advice at every stage of the funeral planning process, and will arrange an individual and unique funeral to help you celebrate the life of your loved one.

Meet the Team

Michael Rushton
Michael Rushton Dip.Fd is a qualified Funeral Director with over 39 years experience, he serves as business principal for the funeral home. Michael is well respected, and after 39 years, he is the longest serving Funeral Director in Southport. He has conducted the funerals of many past Funeral Directors and Clergy from Southport, as he is so respected in the community.

Michelle Rushton
Michelle Rushton serves as business principal is also an experienced Funeral Director (although she only directs now if asked for). Michelle has over 15 years experience working in the funeral and bereavement sector. She has worked in the past as a Bereavement Support volunteer for a large charity, having both counselling and bereavement qualifications.

Lee
Lee is a Funeral Arranger and Funeral Director. He is incredibly caring and professional. Michelle says of Lee, “We feel very blessed to have such a lovely genuine person working with us, who shares our values and love of helping others. Lee always goes the extra mile to make sure families have what they need. We are very proud of Lee and the feedback we receive from families about him is just wonderful, he is an excellent Funeral Director who truly cares about the families he works with. Lee has been with us a long time now, and it has been an honour to watch him grow into the Funeral Director he is today.”
Matthew
Matthew is our newest Funeral Director, although he has been in the profession for 21 years. He brings with him a wealth of experience, such as helping in London during Covid, along with his caring and compassionate nature. Matthew says “I love helping families by listening to their stories and by listening I feel that I can help with suggestions and ideas, to make the service personal to the deceased and to their families. I believe that you can mourn somebody with laughter as well as tears, and that the life of past loved ones should be remembered fondly.” Matthew is already receiving lovely feedback from families and we are very proud to have him as part of the team.

Sasha
Sasha is the first person you will see on the Reception, she cares for everyone entering the premises and assists the Funeral Directors. Michelle says of Sasha “She is the most sincere and thoughtful person, who is simply amazing in her role. She welcomes people into our premises with such kindness and compassion, and organises so many of the things required from music to order of service. Sasha genuinely cares for families and does everything possible to make sure they have everything they need. We are very fortunate to have Sasha working with us, and we receive lovely feedback about her from families all the time, we couldn’t be prouder of her.”
We also have a wonderful small team of funeral operatives, drivers and bearers who are kind, respectful and dedicated. They are a valued and important part of the team.
